Message	plain sight that is all that is needed. Its not illegal for a cop to stick his head in the vehicle especially if he detects an odor of controlled substances. If he sees the bowl, syringe, or whatever the guy had, then people in the vehicle are placed under arrest plain and simple. The entire vehicle can now be searched incident to that arrest. The car can be also seized and inventory searched. Sorry Chris..exclusionary rule, fruits of the poisoness tree and all that other crap don't apply....
